Third Birthday

Three Years Old today!
with my present from Sarah - an Elephant!

My Third birthday fell on a Monday and coincided with Hari Raya. That meant that it was a Public Holiday and I could spend the day with Mummy and Daddy. Hooray!
Since I now sleep with Mummy and Sarah, I woke up and was taken to my room where I found my presents waiting for me. I got a nice Dinosaur Book with Jigsaws and a Lego animal set from Mummy and Daddy. I also got a stuffed Elephant from Sarah! There was a 'long box' present which turned out to be a tent from Appu and Appachi. I was so excited.

Daddy fixed the tent for me and we played inside. I even had my breakfast in the tent! I then had a short nap in the afternoon and woke up all ready for my party.

Mummy and Daddy organised a theme party for me - an African Animal Jungle Party. Daddy printed out invitation cards for everybody. I insisted that he print one for me too!

As usual, there was a lot of food - and it was all home made!

Daddy had made little labels for the food according to the the menu as follows:
  • Warthog Stew (Pork Curry)
  • Impala in Bamboo (Sausage Rolls)
  • Crocodile Patties (Fish Cutlets)
  • Jungle Vegetable Quiche (Self Explanatory)
  • Steamed Jungle Vines (Stringhoppers - this was bought)
  • Jungle Swamp Gravy (Sothi)
  • Elephant Ears (Cinnamon Sugar Pastry)
  • Spotted Leopard Cupcakes (Choc Chip Cupcakes)
  • Spiced Giraffe Muffins (Apple Cinnamon Muffins)
  • Jungle Berry Cupcakes (Blueberry Muffins)
  • Jungle Hare Marsh Jelly (Cendol Jelly - 3 rabbit moulds atop a flat layer of jelly)
  • Assorted Pickled Animals (Lychee Jelly in animal moulds)
Daddy made the Birthday Cake for me. For the whole year, I had been asking for a dinosaur cake but changed my mind in October and decided I wanted my favourite animal - The Elephant. I also asked Daddy to make sure that it was an African Elephant because they are so much bigger and nicer than the Asian Elephant.
So Daddy made me an African Elephant cake. He spent a long time in the kitchen baking and icing the cake and when I saw it I said "Wow! Elephant!" It was lovely! Thank you Daddy!

The party started at 5pm and although it rained earlier, it had stopped in time. I received more presents which included an Elephant from Appa; a remote controlled Tyranosaurus Rex from U. Raymond and A. Priya; a Dart Board from Amma and Tata; a Book of Bible stories from Lawrence Mama and Aunty Steph and a pair of Inline Trainer Roller Skates from Godma and Godpa!

I had a really good time playing outside in the garden and in the tent with everybody. It was a nice birthday party and I think everyone enjoyed themselves.

Thank you Mummy and Daddy for a lovely birthday and Thanks to everyone for coming!
